We started the Venetian plaster business in 2016 after being in the plastering trade for 20 years. But we decided it was time to turn our love for art and interior design into something that we can achieve with what we do best. So we turned our hands to venetian plastering, Interior designers are always looking for that extra special touch which sets them apart from the rest, and we feel this is becoming more and more popular within the UK and we aim to be one of the major players in the industry.
Venetian plaster for those who do not know is a wall and ceiling finish consisting of plaster mixed with marble dust, applied with a spatula to trowel thin, multiple layers, which are then burnished to create a smooth or textured surface with the illusion of depth and texture. Applied over a primer and basecoat base, from one to four layers. then sealed with a protective layer of wax. Venetian plaster can be tinted, or coloured using natural or synthetic colourants.
We enjoy the chance to be creative and as raw and urban as possible, Interior design and Venetian plaster will always be a bit of a niche market but we want to help bring this to the forefront of the modern era, mixing years of venetian plaster practise across the globe by some truly inspiring Artisans with the modern day Da Vinci’s of the Interior design industry.
Venetian Wall Designs have just been awarded the chance to work in Two Hair and beauty salons in Staffordshire. One will be having one of our designs of Venetian plaster finishes which is the image attached to this blog, the other will be having a Regato finish, which is made using a Regato brush, which causes clumping as its dragged along the wall, then the clumps are flattened to create a sublime detail, finished off with a variety of waxes to create a stunning finish.
